John Pearse® #8000 12/11 HAMMER DULCIMER SET [Straight Lengths]

Description

This Hammer Dulcimer set #8000 is a straight length set. That means that each individual wire makes 2 strings on the Hammer Dulcimer. They are expected to be long enough to attach to one tuning pin, go across the instrument [over and under as needed], wind around the hitch pin on the other side, and return [over and under as needed] to the next tuning pin for that course. Their lengths are sized for our Breezy Ridge Hammer Dulcimer and, as there are only 2 strings per course, this makes it very easy.

If you have a hammer dulcimer which has an odd number of strings, you could use one of these strings and then a loop end string for the third or fifth.

These strings are also available as single strings.

If you prefer to use loop end strings for restringing your dulcimer, that set is called #8001 and consists of 44 loop end strings and the .024 is a straight length.
